Every month, we talk about the power of showing up; for connection, for laughter, for a shared drink or a new friendship. But community is also about showing up when things get hard. And this month, we need to talk about something serious… food insecurity in Las Vegas is growing and it’s getting worse.

Last month, Three Square Food Bank, Southern Nevada’s only food bank and the backbone of so many local efforts (including ours), announced a devastating hit: over one million pounds of food they expected to receive this spring were canceled due to federal funding cuts.

That’s one million pounds of food... gone.
One million meals that won’t reach families already struggling to make ends meet.
One million reminders of how deeply our community still needs us.

But here’s the good news: we’re stepping up. 💪🏾

We’re so proud to announce that Elevate Diversity has officially partnered with The Just One Project to host a monthly food distribution event through the end of the year. That’s six more opportunities to show up, serve, and give back to our community this year.

And while we’re pumped to do this work, we want to be clear: none of this is possible without Three Square. Their efforts fuel our monthly distributions, and now they’re relying on us more than ever.

We want to encourage you to donate to them to help feed families in need. Every dollar helps. Every action matters.

✨ Start your Saturday with purpose! Join Elevate Diversity & The Just One Project every 3rd Saturday of the month in 2025 for a morning of impact and connection. We'll be at JD Smith Middle School to help unload food pallets and distribute them to those in need. Whether you’re assisting with client check-ins or helping with food distribution, your efforts will make a real difference in the community. 💛

June is Pride Month! This month is a time to honor the LGBTQ+ community's history, celebrate its vibrant culture, and advocate for equality. Pride Month commemorates the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in New York City, a pivotal event that ignited the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. The first Pride marches occurred in June 1970, marking the anniversary of the uprising and laying the foundation for annual celebrations worldwide.

The event is set up for a day of fun, family, and community. Vendor shopping and hourly entertainment are just some of the successes of the event.

Elevate Diversity encourages you to support local LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs:

• Writer's Block: A queer-friendly bookstore and coffee shop in the Arts District, offering a welcoming space for all.

• The Center: The LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada provides resources, events, and a safe space for the community. The Center also provides some awesome volunteer opportunities if you’re interested in giving back to the community!
  

• The Fruit Loop:

  A cluster of restaurants and bars in Las Vegas, known for its concentration of LGBTQ businesses and nightlife, is being considered for recognition as a historic landmark. Includes: Pirahna Nightclub, Gypsy Nightclub, Quadz video lounge, and Freezone nightclub!

• Explore More: Discover additional LGBTQ+ owned businesses through the Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce of Nevada and Everywhere Is Queer.
